There are ten key tenets of the Knowledge Aware approach that convey the constituent principles and philosophy that enable Knowledge Aware. The second of the ten tenets of Knowledge Aware is Elicited Know-how is transformed into Retained Know-how

‘Retained Know-how’ is essential knowledge that is systematically captured and preserved in a way that enables reuse by others. Engineering standards, requirements, best practices, heuristics, lessons, decision tables, key calculations and work methods are among the common types of Retained Know-how.

Organizations that use the Knowledge Aware approach quickly realize that their knowledge is consistently and accurately captured.

More information on the Knowledge Aware approach can be found on the IKAA website.
